Today, agreements were signed with Romania on a new round of EEA and Norway Grants. Within the €306 million investment from Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway, environment, justice and the situation for the Roma population are among the priorities.

For more than 30 years, the building was deserted and falling into ruin in the buffer zone that divides the Cyprian capital, Nicosia. Until recently it was inaccessible for both Greek Cypriots and Turkish Cypriots. It is now opened as a meeting place for the whole population on the island.

7/4-2011, the Committee of Ministers adopted the Convention on preventing and combating violence against women and domestic violence. It is the first legally binding instrument in the world creating a comprehensive legal framework to prevent violence, protect victims and end the impunity of perpetrators.
